Abstract

This article aims to identify how internal controls are being used in businesses and what are its scope, especially as regards the applicability of these controls in the performance assessment and as tools for identifying opportunities for innovation. The effectiveness of internal control is still a controversial issue, given the recent financial crisis and the history of the scandals of large companies with publicly traded. Through this study sought to find the latest user experiences and identify internal control practices are used most often in organizations, how they are useful and what its borders for use.
