Abstract

Over the past 20 years, urban violence was the topic of central interest and focus on quality of life in cities. The people began to live with a growing fear, along with a decline in the credibility of institutions that should ensure the security and justice to citizens. As a result, cities now present in its structure the reflections of this great concern with violence, with a characteristic morphology, with highly segregated spaces, isolated by physical elements in the hope that violence can be maintained outside their borders and consider the perspective of health promotion.
