A review on obesity in adolescence

prevalence, etiology and treatment.

Abstract

Much of adult obesity has its roots in childhood. One of the tragedies of the current obesity epidemic is significant and growing prevalence of obesity in young people. A major predictor of adult obesity is childhood obesity. We describe here the classification, epidemiology, etiology, comorbidities, and surgical and pharmacological treatment of adolescent obesity.
