Competition and conflitct through the use of natural resources

Abstract

The conflicts over use of natural resources are historical. Since the dawn of life on Earth, conspecifics and different species compete for space, food, partners, etc. These conflicts, however, gained a new face and magnitude with the rise of capitalist societies. Since then, many species became extinct, and many people placed sidelined by society, by no longer having the means to compete. As an alternative to the re-establishment of harmony between men and between them and the nature, a new development model appears, based on the concept and practice of sustainability.
