Abstract

Managing organizations in times of socioeconomic transformations, political, environmental and cultural acceleration has always been a big challenge for organizations. The role of leadership and skills necessary to exercise it is an important point because it impacts on organizational effectiveness and, in particular, in the motivation of people to work. Considering the importance of this matter, this article aims to understand the role of the leader in the personal motivation. It carried out a field survey which included 105 persons exercising their professional activities in different enterprises located in the Metropolitan Region of Campinas - RMC. The results indicate that the exercise of the leadership will have greater impact on the personal motivation if they are able to align their policies, guidelines and strategies for leadership skills that facilitate the achievement of results making it a viable integrated and systemic.
