Abstract

The concept of solidarity economy emerged in France, with França Filho and Laville (2004), in a moment of crisis of employment in the early 90's. The solidarity economy is based on the search for new social paradigms, with socio-economic practices implemented from the neighborhood. Singer and Souza (2003), characterize the solidarity economy across some categories, such as: plurality of economic principles, institutional autonomy, democratization of decision-making, sociability public-community, different purposes, collective ownership of means of production, democratic management of the company, the distribution of net revenue among the members, the allocation of the surplus by criteria defined between the members.
