Sustainable Mobitily and Accessibility to Urban Health in Municipalities in the São Paulo’s State

Abstract

Taking into account the current crisis of urban mobility and the increasing number of cars and population in cities, this article aims to describe the project MASSUr/FAJ, a partnership with the University of Michigan through the SMART/UM project. The MASSUr/FAJ seeks to establish and implement, through the relation between teaching and research, sustainable and healthy solutions with regard to this issue in three cities of São Paulo’s State (Conchal, Jaguariúna and Santa Barbara d'Oeste) and on the campus II of the Jaguariúna College. The first results are presented as a significant initiative to survey and implement healthy action in relation to issues of urban mobility, as well as for teaching and research.
