Application of Cloze technique in College students

Abstract

The use of different instruments of reading learning with comprehension in the College context is very important for facilitating the academic success of university students. The purpose of this paper is to review the theory and research studies made until the end of the nineties of the twentieth century related to the theoretical assumptions subjacent to cloze technique and to the application of this technique to reading comprehension of university students. In addition to explaining the theoretical principles of cloze test construction, this paper discusses with special emphasis the different types of cloze test, the possible functions of this test, the main approaches of language tests and the strategies of learning, reading comprehension and reading comprehension in a second language. reading comprehension strategies.
