Abstract

The objective of this article is to present some technological proposals that allow digital inclusion of deaf people. These researches, ongoing or concluded, are the effect of a greater attention given to questions referring to the accessibility right of deaf people in places, in the majority academic, or other general institutional areas. Considering that the sign language is space-gesture-visual and its structure differs from oral languages, the development of such programs and technological researches with visual support, or usage of 'virtual translators', can serve as incentive for the deaf people, and to the respect of its cultural and linguistic differences. Having that, the mathematics and its correlated studies, with special attention to engineering, can, in many ways, contribute to the improvement and development of new assisted technological tools for the deafness area.
