Methodology to Optimize Manufacturing Plastic Mould

Abstract

In this time of frequent and rapid changes, most manufacturers of plastic molds are being forced to adhere to new technologies if they want to survive in such a competitive market. The objective of this paper is to present a didactic methodology to optimize the production of molds in an integrated production system. Includes the production sectors: control planning, design, process planning and NC programming. The approach adopted focuses on the use of the process of high speed machining (HSM), statistical process control and the relationship between their interfaces to manage the integration of computational tools used for manufacturing planning and control of manufacturing plastic molds.
