Cost Reduction with CBN Inserts Using the Methodology Six Sigma

The current market, highly competitive, makes companies strive increasingly to improve its products and processes. Therefore, many programs and tools have been studied and improved. The Six Sigma Program is one of quality management practices that companies use today in order to improve the quality and preserve the competitiveness of its businesses, looking for the excellence. Companies implementing the Six Sigma have the main purpose to improve their decisions on real facts and measurable data, aiming to have wider and better control and less variability of production processes and services. This work focuses on the application of Six Sigma in reducing cost inserts CBN (cubic boron nitride coated) in the process of machining of hardened steels.
