Abstract

This study discusses the possibility of singularizing the subject in actions triggered by public policies. The issue at hand arises from the author's clinical practice in listening to the singular psychological distress of the subject in different contexts marked by social exclusion where there is the development of public policies aimed at certain groups and collectives. It is based on the assumption that the management of public policies, in legislating in favor of ensuring rights to specific social groups, prescribes the good, the best and the need for individuals as a whole, thus delimiting and determining homogenous behaviors and modes of insertion in the social loop. Even if this dimension is an important social achievement, it does not address the dimension of the singular. Thus, the hypothesis developed in this work is that, by placing emphasis on the psychoanalytic discourse in those contexts, one can contribute to setting in motion discursive possibilities for individualization of the subject, both in the individual and the collective listening, thereby opening gaps in the actions triggered through public policies.
