Abstract

This work aims to make a few remarks on the use of the railway system in Sorocaba, since its foundation. This innovation brought about significant changes in the way they perceive the urban function in the late nineteenth century - something that was also stimulated by industrialization of the site - since Sorocaba developed economically through trade in animals since the colonial period . In the current historical moment , the government wants to implement the rail network of the city center , on the grounds of promoting progress.
