Abstract

According to Abreu, L.V. et al .; many systematic studies evaluating the built-environment called APO (Post Occupancy Evaluation) have been developed in recent years, mostly related to environmental comfort and performance evaluation. And there are a few others held for Post Occupancy Evaluation for the visually impaired notably Ramos C. et al .; 2007 with the article sustainable urban mobility in the eyes of deafblind. Thus this study aimed to conduct a postoccupancy evaluation of the surroundings of the home of blind girls in the city of Santos - SP to contribute to urban mobility and safety, as well as greater independence for visually impaired and how base NBR 15575, correlated with NBR- 9050 The methodology we used physical measurements using the two NBRS cited, measurements, interviews, observations and questionnaires to obtain and detect difficulties of access to the "eyes" of the blind. It was observed that the studied site has many accessibility problems which hinders the mobility and independence of visually impaired as well as other disabilities that may circulate through the site. Therefore, it is evident better attention from the authorities and civil society to not only study site as the whole city allow the disabled may require a full form as the Federal Constitution of 1988, Chapter I Article 5 makes the point that I following text: "All are equal before the law, without distinction whatsoever, guaranteeing the Brazilians and foreigners residing in the country the inviolable right to life, liberty, equality and property safety."
