Abstract

This article aims to describe one experience developed by students of the third semester of the Medicine Course in the construction and completion of a health education experience, to raise awareness of reducing smoking. The project was conducted in October 2012 in the city of Curitiba PR, being the target audience of the fourth year students of Elementary School Enéas Marques dos Santos. For development of educational activity, was used as feature six stages: (1) puppet theater, (2) discussion of the topic, (3) explanation of the dangers of smoking, (4) video illustrating, (5) types of treatment smoking, (6) joke. At the end the team made a poster for closure activities. It was concluded that educational activities from childhood are of eminent importance, as further strengthen the idea that smoking is harmful to health and contributes greatly to that future generations can grow farther away from this addiction.
