Use of complementary therapies in pain management

an integrative review

Abstract

The present study aimed to survey the types of complementary therapies used in pain management. It was an integrative literature review, into the databases of the Health Virtual Library and the Scientific Electronic Library Online. Several therapies have been find in the study, such as physical therapies, cognitive-behavioral, educational and ludic. It was identified that the subject is studied by various professional categories, and that the multidisciplinary approach is crucial for a successful treatment.
