Abstract

Beyond a functional piece, furniture can be analyzed as a historical and cultural meanings’ carrier. In this sense, this research aims to widen the knowledge about Brazilian neoclassic furniture and its relations to its context through a catalog of selected pieces from Museu da Casa Brasileira's collection, São Paulo – SP. This paper presents the methodology and development of this catalog.
