Abstract

Multidisciplinary education is a world trend that might lead to a more comprehensive understanding of the urban environment. The observation of a post-graduated course named “Urban Planning as Healthy City Promotion” taught in the Architecture and Civil Engineering School at Unicamp in 2015 by a teacher graduated in the health sciences area, has emphasized the importance of the multidisciplinary practice in the university education. The course’s progress and the students’ perceptions point to a possible and necessary integration between planning and health promotion tools when addressing common issues as life quality, wellbeing, social participation and public politics.
