Abstract

This paper is a study showing how broilers production environments can influence weight gain during their early stages of growth from 1 to 21 days. The study was conducted in a broiler production farm located in the city of Artur Nogueira - SP, which had two types of production facilities, one with negative pressure, provided by wetted porous cellulose plates, and a conventional system, with a positive ventilation system and nebulizers. The results showed that the different types of sheds and different environments tested in the study can affect growth results of broilers produced for commercial purposes during a broiler early stage of growth. There was a weight gain of 6.5% over the poultry housed in temperature controlled shed (41.13 g / day) compared birds housed in conventional system (38.62 g / day).
