Abstract

The lymphoplasmacytic gastritis results from a disorder of gastric immune system, triggered by environmental factors, genetic and immunoregulatory resulting in oral intolerance to dietary and microbial antigens in the gastric lumen. It is characterized as an idiopathic condition which complicates diagnosis, being the same from complementary and /or deletion scans. Treatment consists of immunosuppressive therapy, antibiotic therapy and supportive therapy. The objective of the present study is to report a case of lymphoplasmacytic gastritis in an Akita Inu dog, which was treated with a history of bilateral aspect of the emesis, and the diagnosis was concluded by endoscopy and histopathological examination.
