care with puppy from birth to surgery procedure
Keywords:
Neonates, Hard palate, Soft palateAbstract
The cleft palate is inadequate and inefficient communication between the oral and nasal cavities and is characterized by poor formation of the tissues and bones that surround these two structures. This anomaly may be primary, with involvement of the lip and alveolus (cleft lip); secondary incomplete, when extending along the flexible portion used in swallowing, the soft palate; secondary complete, when it affects the soft and hard palate; or primary and secondary when all these structures are involved. With this study, we aimed to present important and remarkable aspects about the mentioned pathology, addressing topics such as: possible causes; prevention; diagnosis; problems and diseases; neonatal care, feeding, nutrition and physiological and individual conditions necessary for surgical reconstitution and technique used in palatoplasty, in addition to pre, trans and post-surgical care, which should be considered for the satisfactory recovery of the related patients.
