It was intended to ascertain whether emotional or psychological causes such as guilt, shame, insecurity or even ignorance of the origin of these symptoms would be the reasons that lead the individual not to express what he feels about the pains with such origin. The content was analyzed through a bibliographic survey, in a qualitative way, in a sequence of activities that reduced the data collected and categorized them for the interpretation and writing of the report, and demonstrate that since ancient Greece already existed a notion of the interrelation between body and spirit, in the Which refers to the disease, and that the current idea of psychosomatics is based on the body-mind dichotomy, but currently it is proposed the understanding of the disease from a look at the individual in all its completeness and relationships that involve it, as well As phenomenological currents postulate the study of the phenomenon independently of the established concepts. They also demonstrate some risk groups and indicated medical and psychotherapeutic treatment for the somatization agent. It was concluded that knowledge about somatization is based on the dichotomy about body and mind, but it is currently proposed a new look at the individual, from which the phenomenon must be reanalyzed, considering the new multidisciplinary knowledge integrated by several professionals. It is suggested the continuity of the research, but with a practical and empirical objective on the presented problem.
