Abstract

The human being had always used objects from nature as building materials and nowadays, with fixed buildings, it doesn’t have to adapt to relief differences. New solutions to prevent hillside landslides have developed over the years. Nowadays there is a greater control of the landsliding risks. The gabion walls is gaining more and more space in containment Works due to its ease of execution, low cost and also due to its low environmental impact. The purpose of this article is make a study about the feasibility of using gabion filled with fissured concrete cylindrical specimens. For this, a review has performed in the available literature about the concrete specimens, the employability and methodology of calculation and required studies for the implementation of gravity containment structure of gabion type. A modeling study has created through AutoCAD, aiming for better accommodation of the concrete specimens inside the gabion box of one cubic meter, and a comparison of values among the traditional gabion and proposed constructive model, filled with concrete specimens. With the proposed work, we aim a reduction of environmental impact, considering the incorrect disposal of the specimens and the generation of greater saving in its construction process, so that the containment structure doesn’t lose its technical characteristics.
