Implementation of a farmacia viva project in Interclínicas, Jaguariúna – SP

Abstract

The use of medicinal herbs has been passed through time and it is, even in the recent days, largely used by people worldwide. However, knowledge about medicinal herbs and its popular use is getting lost. The Farmacia Viva project aims to rescue the traditional and popular knowledge of medicinal herbs and promote its rational use. The project was approved by Centro Universitário de Jaguariúna in 2017. It was built in a suitable place in Interclinicas, Jaguariúna – SP, which is a primary care unit, that know counts with 29 different medicinal herbs cultivated. Many activities are being developed such as research with population, blades for microscopic observation, visits, classes, trainees, internships and scientifical iniciation. Community will receive herb in natura, along with information about how to use it, indications and cultivation. In the future, we aim to provide medicinal teas and herbal medicines to the population, and also promote workshops and trainings to those who want knowledge for it’s own purpose or to spread it by creating new Farmacias Vivas. The project it’s being also a research field for academical extention, such as a therapeutical alternative that shows to be well accepted by community.
