Abstract

The area of medicinal plants and phytotherapeutic of the Unified Health System (SUS) received a significant increase with the publication of Portaria GM nº 886, of April 20, 2010, which instituted the “Live Pharmacy” under SUS. The objective of this project was to advise the implantation and implementation of “Live Pharmacies” in basic health units of the city of Campinas, training professionals, conducting soil analysis, technical visits and providing plants inputs. The project was developed in 18 health centers (HC) of the Municipal Network of Campinas. Each HC set up its construction and maintenance project for the “Live Pharmacy”, assisted by the team of this project. Training was carried out on composting, cultivation, plant identification, “Live Pharmacy” and safe use of medicinal plants with HC staff. Inputs, tools and specific advice were provided according to the need of each HC, as well as technical visits were made in the HCs to follow up the project and carry out activities with the community served by HS.
