Abstract

This work had as objective review the productions related to breastfeeding and aspects of the father figure in front of this reality, summarizing the impact of the father figure in maintaining breastfeeding. An integrative review, which descriptors were elected; tested combinations; thematic search performed on the database and analysis to examine the findings. Of 113 surveyed clipping articles were selected 85, including only 12, not fit all the criteria and were analyzed. The professional practice and explored the literature of this study makes clear that breastfeeding may encourage the formation of linkages with all family members, as well as participation of health professionals, promoting the development of such.
