Abstract

Although experience teaches that there are always new challenges in the classroom, the new reality of teaching in the contemporary world exposes ever more dynamic and prevailing evolutions. The emergence of different methodologies has shown very interesting results so that the skills and abilities of the students are compatible with the demands of society, which is increasingly demanding in order to get involved with the production of spaces more selected by the seeking public the profession of architect and urbanistic. The critical reflection on the practice of teaching and learning architecture and urbanism in the classroom is through aligning and discussing some fundamental knowledge of educational practice, as well as the educational-critical one in which all structuring must bring mandatory content, especially content whose understanding is made of the production of knowledge, of creating possibilities that teaching and learning are directly linked to its construction and production. All the student public requires something technological, where technology imposes the review of stages of education, yet this does not change the character of the role of the architect and urbanist. What is good architecture and good urban planning? The answers are in many places, in different cultures, at different times, but the promotion of good practices in the teaching of architecture and urbanism helps the creativity of the students to develop, and this is the main reason teaching-learning, bringing together of themselves the knowledge worked in a gradual way. The survey of answers to many questions came in the form of reports and questionnaires answered by the students and alumni of the course of architecture and urbanism of the UniFAJ, in which he contributed to a critical reflection of the act of teaching and learning architecture and urbanism.
