Abstract

The City hall of Jaguariúna, through the Secretariat of Basic Sanitation comes changing to the cement net asbestos for polyethylene net of high density (PEAD) since 2002, due to great loss of water evidenced in the year of 2001. Through the not destructive method, the city already approximately changed to 50 km of old cement net asbestos and before it reduced its loss of water in approximately 40%, preventing the necessity of expansion of the production of water and the high inherent investments to the execution of new capitations, stations of treatment and expositories for transport of the caught water, in the period of approximately 8 years with the growth of the 2,3% city. One of the measures of bigger impact of the general reduction of the volume of lost water, is the active control of emptyings in the distribution nets, measures these that had been adopted by Jaguariúna approximately the 5 years and that we got as resulted a reduction of loss of approximately 38%.
