Abstract

The article deals with the reuse of an old ceramic insulator factory, located in the central area of the city of Pedreira/SP. Thought the need to link history to everyday life, intervening in order to respect and appropriate the existing characteristics and temporal layers, not producing false history, but to evidence old and new. Being the product of this intervention the Center for Leisure, Culture and Services, which meets the needs of the population. In order to base the studies about the intervention in industrial patrimony, it was used as a case study the project of Lina Bo Bardi, for an old factory of drums, known as SESC Pompéia/SP.
