Abstract

In the current automotive scenario companies undergo constant changes, raising the need for updating. This need is broad and does not only cover improvements in final products, technological, strategic, but also logistic eliminating jobs that do not add up to the final value of the product. Mainly, because such improvements directly impact the overall costs of the organization. The present study aims to quantify the results of implementing a Milk Run programmed collection system in comparison to a special freight system, and to derive perspectives for future research. Based on this objective, a case study was carried out for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of an automotive company located in the city of Jaguariúna, Brazil.
