Abstract

We described the development of a methodology for the calculation of variability and tuning of control loop, through the utilization of process simulation tools coupled to 6-s statistics data treatment. In a first time, the data acquisition was made in the temperature control of a pilot plant and after in paper industrial plant. As results we obtained a practical demonstration of the importance of tuning and control loop to reduce variable costs in the industrial process. Additionally, we achieved the decreasing in the environment impact in the paper industrial plant, through the minimization of effluent generation, and also contributed to improve the 3R´s policy implementation.
