Abstract

The assessment of people with disabilities by the INSS (National Institute of Social Security) through the ICF (International Classification of Functionality, Disability and Health) to obtain the Benefit of Continued Benefit (BPC) is little known the result of its use. The results of the evaluations and epidemiological profiles of the applicants were analyzed. Single women with low schooling and mean age of 49 years were found. Only 22% had their benefit approved. A difference was observed in the evaluation of the social worker and in relation to that of the physician-expert, making it a barrier of access to the disabled person, and therefore, it is necessary to improve the ICF.
