Abstract

The measures aimed at assistance and humanization at the moment f childbirth, they favor woman in the pregnancy period, since they contribute in an effective way to minimize pain, decreasing the chances of interventions throughout the childbirth process. This study aimed to identify non pharmacological methods (NPMs) for the control of pain during labor, used and reported in the literature by health professionals. A research was accomplished in the bases of data LILACS, SciElo e MEDLINE with the descriptors of health: Labor pain, obstetric nursing, labor, obstetric .Of the 32 brazilian articles found, only 14 met the eligibility criteria, being they published among 2010 and 2016. The NPMs has been used more often and contribute in the comfort and pain relief during labor and childbirth.
