Literature review: causes of teenage pregnancy

Abstract

In recente decades, the number of teenagers in te world has grown. There are 1.2 billion teenagers between 10 and 19 years old. The estimate is 68.4 births per 1,000 adolescents The percentage of teenage pregnancies declined by 17% in Brazil, among mothers aged 10-19. The region that stands out in pregnancy in this age group is the Northeast, with 32% of cases and currently 66% of case are unwanted. The concept adolescence is varied in different definitions aiming at the age range of 10 to 19 years. According to some authors, adolescence is a phase that marks the transition between chilhood and adulthood characterized by changes and physical, mental and social changes. This is na integrative Literature review that used articles in the Portuguese language, consulted at SciELO and Lilac’s from 2013 to 2017, using the descriptors adolescent pregnancy, adolescent and sexual orientation. It was also found family problems of the young leading to the disruption of the home, arising the desire of the young to get pregnant to leave home. It is suggested the wor of family planning before na early pregnancy and not prevention after the adolescent becomes pregnant.
