Abstract

Urban planning stands out as a guiding instrument for the development of programs and actions that seek to improve the quality of life and well-being of the population in urban spaces. However, studies indicate that cities still face problems caused by high urbanization in Brazil and worldwide. The objective of this research was to identify public policies for urban planning and health for the construction of healthy urban spaces in Brazil. Bibliographic and documentary research with a descriptive method was used to survey the common terms of the guiding documents and legal frameworks for urban planning and health. It was noted the existence of common terms among these documents, identifying that for the development of a healthy urban space with quality of life, social participation is necessary, as well as inclusion policies, which include housing, work, leisure, well-being and quality of life of the population through intersectoral actions.
