Parallel Modernities, Old and New Forum of Itapira

This research was developed around the comparative analysis between the historic buildings of the old and new forum of Itapira, buildings built at different times and with different architectural movements, but both representing the arrival of modernity for the architectural production of the city of Itapira, interior of São Paulo, within their contexts. To further deepen this reflection, it was necessary to understand the context in which the buildings studied are located, their architects, the purpose for which they were built and particularly about the concept of modernity over time. It highlights the importance of buildings of historical value and their preservation as an important part of the city's memory and history. Preserving a building is not only about keeping a past, but also thinking about the present and the future.
