This is because it is notorious and growing the demand for this model of education. Within this context, this article tries to understand which aspects motivate the person at the moment to choose the course. The research method adopted was the bibliographic survey. They chose to work with published biographies in the last five years, utilizing tools like motivation, learning and teaching distance, except for books, given the unavailability of finding them in this time frame. It was also understood the phenomenon under different perspectives of different authors, finding diverse results, some that are close to the predicted hypotheses, such as tutor training, platform improvement, time reduction, value savings, previous computer knowledge, and others presented new variables, being possible to find advantageous as well as limiting points that interfere in the learning process in the EAD, looking at the student as a subject that has its specific singularities and its variables before a motivation for it. In this context, we also found descriptors considered important for future research on the subject in question.
