Abstract

Students in school inclusion generally challenge the school because of the specificity of their needs. Given some situations observed in internship, we were interested in the assistance given to students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who, due to neurological disorders associated with behavior, communication and socialization, demand the integrated work of several professionals. The purpose of our research was to better understand Autism Spectrum Disorder, the needs of autistic students, understand the role of inclusion, whether the Physical Education Professional has a specific preparation and what methodologies they use in their classes. The analysis was based on bibliographic research selecting pedagogical practices of Physical Education including the use of sports out of school that have demonstrated evolution in at least one of these students difficulties, whether in the motor part, communication or even in the social field. The data collected indicate practices with positive results, but the amount of research on the subject is still small. Some Physical Education Professionals feel unprepared and have difficulty identifying or adapting a methodology that allows the effective participation of students with autism and promotes improvements in their condition.
