The process of distrust in reading

Abstract

This research aims at the questioning the lack of motivation for investigative and critical reading. In order to demonstrate this situation, presents an outdated kind of reading of the poetry developed in schools. Then, illustrating the figure of the poet João Cabral de Melo Neto, shows a view of poetry dedicated to reason and to the work of poetic form, focusing on the “Antilirismo”, the poetry and reading of the poetry as an alternative to the improvement of instruments of reading, not just for poetry, but also for other kinds of text.
