Abstract

Among all types of headache, tension is the one that stands out the most. These tensions can be associated with several disorders, negatively influencing the individual's well-being and determining losses to society in general. One of the treatment possibilities for this type of dysfunction is the manual technique of cervical traction, as a physiotherapeutic modality. Therefore, the objective of this article is to analyze and report, through a bibliographic review, the effectiveness of the manual physical therapy technique for cervical traction in individuals with tension-type headache. Initially, 428 articles were found and, after the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 28 articles were included. We conclude that the cervical traction technique is an effective physical therapy modality in individuals with tension-type headache.
