The challenge of conciliating acoustic and thermal performance in housing building façades
Keywords:

Residential building users crave comfortable environments acoustically and thermally. The usual materials and structures that favor acoustic performance disfavor thermal performance and vice versa. The objective of this work is to reconcile both performances simultaneously, analyzing different configurations of façades with and without ventilated sill. This constructive element associated with facades suitable for buildings located in hot and humid regions, was studied by Oiticica (2010). A complementary analysis of the results of Oiticica (2010) showed that there are ventilated sill configurations that meet noise class I, of the performance standard (ABNT, 2013) and the ventilation allowed by the structure helps in the user's thermal comfort.
