Abstract

Given the working conditions of civil construction, there are different situations that offer risk to human health, one of which is the high level of noise present in the construction site; this aggravating factor can generate several impacts on the vitality of employees, it should be taken into account that it not only affects the employees directly involved in the activity in question, but also impacts the entire team that is working around. High exposure to occupational noise can generate several impairments such as hearing reduction, stress, insomnia, increased cardiac pressure, etc. This article will study the noise level absorbed by a collaborator who is handling a soil compactor in a construction site located in the city of Holambra/SP. The employee was monitored throughout the workday in different scenarios in order to be pointed out the best alternative to minimize the absorbed noise. We compared the measurement results with the tolerance levels exposed by RS 15 (Regulatory Standard 15) and it is concluded that the compactor clearly makes the work environment extremely unhealthy and some measures needed to be taken to mitigate these impacts.
