Abstract

the diagnosis of cancer has an important impact on patients' lives, in which palliative care becomes essential to increase survival. Objective: to identify the perspective of cancer patients in palliative care in relation to quality of life. Method: qualitative research, in order to assess the perspective of cancer patients enrolled the Best at Home Program in the city of Jaguariúna-SP, through five previously elaborated questions. The analysis of the speeches took place from three sequences, in which the guiding questions were transformed into thematic axes. To preserve anonymity, a pseudonym of butterflies was used. Result and discussion: the information found, along with the literature, made evident the need for the participation of the multidisciplinary team in the development of health and care strategies, since the knowledge of patient care is essential to consolidate the promotion issues health and quality of life. Final considerations: the participants' lack of knowledge about PC and QoL was reported, in which the multidisciplinary team is primarily responsible for the health education of patients without a cure prognosis.
