Abstract

This study aims to analyze violence and its impacts on the lives of transgender women, with the aim of pointing out the violence rates, where these crimes of racism and their perpetrators begin and occur. A literature review was carried out on the basis of the Virtual Health Library (VHL), selecting complete articles published in the years 2010-2020, in Portuguese and Spanish. The articles point out that transgender women live in an LGTphobia society, in which violence is considered natural. During their work, health professionals must consider the impact of these violations of human rights and of a life marked by fear and invisibility, in order to pay attention to reduce the damage to health and promote the reception of this population.
