Energetic Efficiency Diagnosis in a University Library

Abstract

The recurrence of themes relacionated to natural resources preservation, to the sustentability and to energy consume, in the architecture and civil engineering scope, has awaken the search for techniques and inovations necessity that met theses needs. A tool that deserves attention for the energy consume decrease is the Energetic Efficiency Edification Labeling, developed by the partnership between Eletrobrás and Inmetro, that despite the voluntary start, presents an imminent mandatory character for edifications in the hole national territory. The Programa Brasileiro de Etiquetagem (PBE) has the finality of fighting the energy waste, as well the racional use energy incentive in edifications. The point of this work is proposing the energetic efficiency labeling to the University Library of Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba, by the three requirements diagnosis: envelope, lighting system and air conditioning. The search is lined in the Regulamento Técnico de Qualidade do Nível e Eficiência Energética de Edifícios Comerciais, de Serviços e Públicos (2013) prescriptive method. The methodology includes a physical-visual lifting of the ambients, envelope materials verification, calculation of installed power density and air conditioning use system. From the results, it proposes an edification classification as for energetic efficiency. The building received a level E for envelope, C for lightning system, E for air conditioning and D in general classification.
