Corporative evolution of Lean Production System
case-study in the automotive industry based on SAE J4000

The production management system based on the Lean Production approach, who focus the identification and progressive minimization or elimination of waste, has been recognized for the past decades as an efficient and competitive model for the automotive industry, thus creating the need for evaluating how and how much the companies have been adapting to this system. In this context, this article presents the main results and aspects related to a case-study conducted with a company in the automotive sector, which had as main goal study the evolution of Lean degree. Firstly, for so, the main concepts about aspects of the adjustment evaluation to the Lean Production are presented, describing, among them, the criteria defined by the Standard SAE J4000. Afterwards, the adopted methodological procedures for data gathering with the companies are described, as well as the main results obtained.
