The use of social participation in the elaboration of urban intervention proposal

The purpose of this article is to present a proposal for intervention in a public emptiness of public property located in the municipality of Caldas, MG, considering the principles of Urban Planning, City Statute and Health Promotion. Quantitative, bibliographical, documentary and field studies were used, aided by observation and form data capture techniques. As result of the research carried out, together with popular participation, the option of building a multi-sport court was obtained, although not unique to the occupation of the urban emptiness in question, making it possible to attribute a social function to public property and, thus, stimulating the affective ties between the local community and the city.
