Abstract

In project pedagogy, learning is driven by the students' curiosity, dialogue and experience, aiming to make it meaningful to form autonomous, critical and creative personalities. The dimension of experience is intrinsically related to that of expression, which collaborates with the construction of meaning, the communicability and socialization of the experienced, the elaboration of the knowledge of experience and thus with the essence of human formation. At a time when images are transmitted with increasing ease and speed and visual communication gains importance, this work investigates how to put a greater focus on the development of visual expression in the educational process and reflects on convergences with the pedagogy of projects. For this purpose, the bibliographical study is based on the pedagogical approach of the pre-schools in the Italian city of Reggio Emilia, seeking to understand them in the theory about creative processes discussed by Lev Vigotsky and points out the possibility of enhancing the pedagogy of projects with the creation of an innovative visual culture.
