Abstract

According to WHO (World Health Organization) on January 30, 2020, the disease caused by the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) constitutes a Public Health Emergency of International Importance, on the following date the virus was still only established in the countries of the east and some from Europe. However, in June the scenario quickly finds itself in another way, Latin America becomes the epicenter of the disease, surpassing the number of 1,080,051 people who were infected with the new Coronavirus. In Brazil, tension has increased due to the fact that in addition to the epidemiological issues of the disease, there is still a need to face challenges that aggravate the transmission of the virus, in the cases of informal urban settlements (favelas), as surveys in the city of São Paulo show that they are in the most remote regions. peripheral areas of the city where the greatest number of deaths by COVID-19 are found, this is because the contamination is directly linked to the distribution of the population across the territory. Thinking of a solution for this context, the healthy city and health promotion must be concepts to be aimed at recovering the damage caused, and in addition, to create cities more resilient to future challenges. Based on the understanding of a healthy city as one that grants the feeling of belonging, coalition, social participation, autonomy, and equity, a tool was created that consists of a compilation of key words that essentially define urban planning as a promoter of a healthy city.
