Abstract

The main objective of this article is to highlight the big importance of teachers' action through the contents of physical education and compare with lessons from another times (showing the differences between the new trends vs traditional methods), making a historical rescue of what has changed and what can still change for better. We have searched through bibliographic researches, books, documents, scientific articles and virtual platforms (Google Scholar, Scielo, etc.). We seek showing ways for teachers to structure themselves and to achieve the goal of developing students, meaning, giving directions in the development's field to achieve positive results. Based on new trends, we see considerable progress and a new physical education discipline, to show (today more than ever) that we have historical concepts, logical contents and a structure to be passed on to the students. In other words, we have the body movement culture as the main path of physical education, which can be shown in various ways and with the greatest diversity possible. In this way, we have seen that when focused on students' development, and knowing how to diversify, organize and adapt the contents, the teacher and the physical education have a great power in their hands, to interfere in a positive way in the students' motor, cognitive, affective or even social lives. It is necessary to have directions and goals; to know and understand their students and the school; to assimilate and show that teaching and development depends on teachers and students. It is necessary learning how to know (conceptual), to be (attitudinal) and to do (procedural).
